my birds...

Howdy....I thought I would post pics of my two birds....

The first one is my 1983 Bird...3.8 V6, mostly power everything...only has 80K on it, that is the reason I am leaving it alone, other than adding 1984-1987 heads to the V6(another point of compression) while I put the new head gaskets on...I have also hogged out the intake and heads in a effort to get a few more HP out of the motor, along with a 500 CFM holley 2v carb....I am adding 3.70 gears to the rear soon, to also help on acceleration.

Ooops...I thought I had a pic of it...oh well, I will add one later...

The next bird...is a 1987 5.0 LX Bird...power windows, A/C, being the only real options...this car also has the old-style hand clock in it, It is sitting at 139,000 miles...so I am going to modify this one. I already have a HD 3-row radiator in it, motorsport 9mm wires, MSD coil, K&N filter in it...with more to come. I also have a self-built AOD going into it, with a PA valve body, 4R70W low gear planetary set, 6-disc clutch basket, 2" OD band, mechanical diode intermediate sprag, 4R70W intermediate pressure plate (4 discs instead of 3), and Alto Red Eagle clutches and kolene steels throughout. I also have a 4x4 pan and filter on it, along with an A+ O/D servo. Future plans beyond that include: Turbo Coupe nose; long-rod 351W EFI with AFR 185 heads..new paint and seats.....8.8 rear.....subframe connectors .... A/C repair... lincoln calipers....GT sway bars...And believe it or not, I am having two of the 1987-1989 Mustang GT finned aluminum wheels I already have widened to 9" for the rear of the car, so I can fit 295/50R 15's back there, along with cleaning them up for a repaint....sleepers rule.

Here is the only shot I have of it...

What I find funny, is that both of these cars are exactly the same color, both inside and out..kind of like bookends.
