Mark VII Seats in a Cougar October 20, 2018, 04:48:57 PM I've always loved the Mark VII seats (leather especially, with all the side bolsters). Has anybody here ever installed Mark VII seats in their Cougar? If I could find any for sale, I'd love to put a full set in my GS. Were there Mark VII interiors anywhere close to the Taupe interior of my '86 GS? I'll probably never find a set anyway, color-matched or not. Just curious. Quote Selected
Mark VII Seats in a Cougar Reply #1 – October 20, 2018, 09:49:04 PM Mark 7 seats fit. I've seen them in cougar birds at the junkyard. Quote Selected
Mark VII Seats in a Cougar Reply #2 – October 20, 2018, 10:55:30 PM Know where I could find any pics? Would love to see them. I guess a console would be required for my seats, windows, and mirrors. Quote Selected
Re: Mark VII Seats in a Cougar Reply #3 – March 22, 2019, 12:10:13 PM Well, I finally confirmed that there are/were Mark VII leather seats in Taupe, the color of my GS's interior. Now, does anyone know where I could find a set? I have found only 1 set of Mark seats online for sale, and they're in Arizona, I think, and they're dark blue. Thanks for anyone's help. Quote Selected
Re: Mark VII Seats in a Cougar Reply #4 – March 24, 2019, 09:35:57 PM I would hit these sites up and see if anyone has a set:https://www.thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=26http://www.lincolnsonline.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=246https://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/forum/forums/parts-for-sale-forum.45/ Quote Selected
Re: Mark VII Seats in a Cougar Reply #5 – March 25, 2019, 04:48:20 PM At this point the newest Mark VII is 27 years old. No matter what seats you find they will likely need to be recovered. So just buy whatever seats you can find and bring them to an upholstery shop. Then you can have the exact color you want. Quote Selected 2 Likes

Re: Mark VII Seats in a Cougar Reply #7 – April 01, 2019, 06:28:10 PM Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'm looking for one of those "too good to be true" situations. I only paid $375 for my car, which just needs a trans to be roadworthy again. As much as I'd like to deck it out with cooler seats, drivetrain, etc., reality sets in and I just can't put $1000 seats in a $375 car. I have no idea how much it would cost to re-cover a full set of seats with a nice leather, but probably way more than I could ever afford. On a related note, as I was trolling (again) on CL, I found a '92 Mark VII in the Cincinnati area for $800, pretty sure with a clean title, not sure of what package/level (LSC, etc), just needs a fuel pump and tires. No pictures attached. Too good to be true?? Quote Selected
Re: Mark VII Seats in a Cougar Reply #8 – April 03, 2019, 06:25:25 AM Its worth asking for pics of it, if its not a rust bucket they are good cars to fix up. If it is a rust bucket, it may still have good interior parts and the 5.0ho to part out. Generally speaking, most of the cars were pretty well taken care of by the 1st and 2nd owners because they were somewhat expensive new. The 87-9 LSC's had the highly countoured seats, but the 91-2 LSC's are usually the most sought after, especially the SE's with black interior. Quote Selected
Re: Mark VII Seats in a Cougar Reply #9 – April 04, 2019, 04:20:03 PM Anybody in the Cincinnati general area? The ad is still up for this '92 Mark VII, says he needs to sell it by the 16th (April, I assume), 1 owner, new transmission, 100k miles, $800 or make offer. Somebody needs to go get that car. Again, needs fuel pump and tires. Land line number is 513-984-5121 (no texting). CL listing number is 6851680483. If an admin doesn't mind, please also post this in the "Leads" area of the For Sale section. Thanks. Quote Selected
