Full digital dash

Wasn’t sure where to post this so mods can move if needed.
 I have another gauge cluster on the way and was curious if mileage can be changed to reflect my current reading? I have changed mileage on the buttstuffog units before as they are pretty simple. Also before I install the new cluster will changing to 168 bulbs make it a little brighter? Seems I used 194 bulbs when I changed them in my current cluster.

194 LED bulbs might brighten it up a bit. I've still got the original halogen bulbs in mine....

I thought LEDs required some type of inline resistor? Do they run cooler or warmer than regular bulbs?

No resistor needed. You MAY need that for signal bulbs though. I finally got around to replacing the backlights for the speedo on my dash.... For the backlights the factory bulb is a 2033 Halogen, but a 194 bulb or LED equivalent can be used in its place....

The Halogens get [COLOR="#FF0000"]HOT[/COLOR].
The LEDs run much cooler.  The display WILL be brighter.....  Like to the point where I have to find LED bulbs for the radio and EATC now, lol.

I used these.....




Don't forget that the LED bulbs are polarity sensitive.  They can install one of 2 directions.  One way will work, the other will not so leave the electrical connectors hooked up when swapping the bulbs to save yourself some trouble.

Are they dimmable? I've almost done leds a few times, but for the price and not sure if they would dim kept me away.

Most LED's are dimmable to a certain voltage before they just shut off. I've used cheap ones from Amazon and Ebay, and they dim fairly well.
It's Gumby's fault.
