EGR valve NOT opening 87 3.8l May 19, 2018, 11:53:04 AM I am having trouble reading the codes but I believe I have code 33 and it is obvious I have no vacum to the EGR valve. Quote Selected
EGR valve NOT opening 87 3.8l Reply #1 – May 19, 2018, 02:45:37 PM Is the "obvious no vacuum" an assume?Pull the vacuum hose off the EGR and put a vacuum gauge on it. Watch for vacuum while running KOER.The EEC controls the vacuum to the EGR.Or, put your vacuum pump on the EGR to see if it will hold a vacuum.Or, put a piece of vacuum hose on the EGR and suck on it to see if it will hold a vacuum. EGR valve NOT opening 87 3.8l Reply #2 – May 19, 2018, 09:14:26 PM Excellent idea's When I had the intake off last fall while replacing a cylinder head I cleaned the EGR plate that had an almost completely plugged passage so something I believe is wrong. Quote Selected
