Poll Question - Head Light Cover Thoughts

I've been recently toying with the idea of going back to the "stock" 4 eye headlight look versus my headlight covers and just wanted to get some opinions.  The car is modified and I think the headlight covers really go well with the overall appearance.  It's easy enough to use them/not use them, just need to remove the mounting tabs.  Just wanted to see what you guys think, sorry the pictures are not better, the car is currently in pieces.

My personal opinion would be to ditch the covers and black out the area around the lights.

I always liked the covers. Had them on my 83 Tbird years ago. I think they are"period correct" and add to the car when it has other mods as yours dos... But again that's my opinion as well.

I am kinda hot-and-cold on the headlight covers. I still have mine, and I still have the brackets on my bezels, but ever since I put in my halogen halo conversion lamps, I think it looks better without.

Personally I like the covers.  I have a set for my '86 XR-7 but I must admit that I used them more before I got the surrounds painted black.  I've kept them just in case I decided to put them back on.

Head light covers need to go. They weren't tasteful years ago and time hasn't made them any better ;)

I'm not necessarily fond of them on 87 up cars.  Toying with stock headlight bezels ... blacking out the area around the lights, or doing body color ... choices, choices ...

I prefer the look of the 4 eyes.  Again just a preference of mine.

I think the headlight covers look nice in your pictures. I'd have to see pictures with the bezels blacked out but I like your headlight covers!

The way I see it is that it is up to the individual and the tastes that he or she likes or doesn't.  Clearly some like the covers and yet others don't.  Just like now with all of the after market lights available for today's cars.    Chromed, Blackout, Halo, projector the list goes on and on.    You customize your car your way.  Why is it ok for a modern muscle car to run that way but not for the older cars.  I have lens covers for all of my cars.  3 are blackout, one is the clearer lens covers.  It does not mean that every drive has the covers in place.  I will add that I did black out the headlight bezels on both of the 4 eyed cars, this is my look.  1 car I bought that way, the other three I made that way.    My mustang.  New and shiny as it is has the black out headlights built in to it.  Good now, good then.
With that said, I do think your car looks good with them in place.    I also agree that a black out bezel would look nice as well.    You choose.  If your unsure, use black tape to cover your bezel with and see if you like the look.    Removable if need be yet gives you the general idea to look at and see if it fits your style or not.    Either way, good luck and I'm sure the decision will be the best one for you.

I had them back in the day but I no longer have them but I did not have blacked out headlight trim back then either and it was the style in the early 90's.  I ended up installing the diamond headlights and really like the look so I do not want to cover them up.
