That's a 56 T-bird

Some of the differences don't match with what I've read.
if it is a '56, it doesn't have porthole windows, yet it does have the external spare, which according to my info, '55 Tbirds didn't have...

Love the valve covers on the 55.

I would love to figure a way to get them on my bird so I could stop using stang stuff.

A 55 Bird did NOT have the vents in the front fenders(for the paasenger's feet. also, the rear tire piece was an option, and it's called a "continental kit".
Next time, ask the owner. I'm positive it's a 55

:grinno:

So which is it?
And does it really matter?

Answer.....NO

Why? Because we're more concerned about Fox Bird's.

I would too. I've though about using chrome valve covers and somehow afixing the Bird emblem form the nose of an MN-12 Bird to each one. I don't know how though. Glue probably wouldn't work and I don't want to drill hole in the valve cover top for the studs on the back of the emblem.

I'd get a cheap set of covers and try it first but It seems like it's worth it. For the look, I would try it.

If you guys want an old school set of finned aluminum valve covers for a 302,  Offenhauser has a set. Their part number is #5487 but they aren't cheap, about $250 a set.
