eltronic cluster issues Reply #1 – August 09, 2016, 12:53:34 PM I would make sure the plug is fully seated in the back of the cluster if you haven't done so yet. Quote Selected
eltronic cluster issues Reply #2 – August 09, 2016, 10:01:29 PM I had an issue where my speedo would light up but no value. I ended up replacing my whole cluster. However, you can also replace each module within the cluster. Quote Selected
eltronic cluster issues Reply #3 – August 09, 2016, 11:01:19 PM Check your ignition switch. Last time I had this problem, I pulled the column shroud to find the switch melted and blackened. Scared the shiznit out of me. Quote Selected
eltronic cluster issues Reply #4 – August 10, 2016, 12:04:55 AM If there is no light, it could be the ignition switch. Mine randomly lights up every once in a while and the ignition switch itself was damaged. Need to get a new one, but I fixed all the charred wires and connections. If the number disappears, I would highly suspect the internal connections of the cluster itself. They are printed on a thin plastic film. As the film starts to decay, the traces and connections start to peel up and can touch. One thing to confirm, make sure you are getting the speed signal from the computer. There is a vast sensor located on the transmission. It plugs in like a speedo cable, but instead reads the speed and converts it into 8000 pulses per mile. It is very easy to swap out, only being held in with no bolt. If this is bad though, the speedo will still display a 0mph value, it will just randomly jump up and down when it does or doesn't work. eltronic cluster issues Reply #5 – August 10, 2016, 06:22:56 AM @OP, I didn't catch what year your car is, but there was a recall on that switch for vehicle fires in a lot of other Fords of the period with the same switch, so check it out. Call a Ford Service department, and give them your VIN. Ask for them to check OASIS for open FSA's. Quote Selected

eltronic cluster issues Reply #7 – January 04, 2017, 09:33:08 PM bought a cluster , but i think maybe the tach is off - is there a adjustment for v6- v8 ? Quote Selected
eltronic cluster issues Reply #8 – January 05, 2017, 12:32:32 PM Even stock the V8 digital tachometers are not all that accurate. http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?38600-The-stock-digital-tach-is-apparently-very-inaccurate&highlight= Quote Selected
eltronic cluster issues Reply #9 – January 23, 2017, 07:21:49 PM I pulled my electronic dash and send to Southern Electronics, Richmond, VA 804-423-1100 for around $150. Quote Selected
eltronic cluster issues Reply #10 – February 10, 2017, 08:32:42 PM some one noted to add a 100ohm resistor "next " to the other one for tach issues ( sure this was from v6 )? the whole cluster seems to work , but not at all accurately- bars missing in the center of the temp (fuel and alt seem to be properly lit but not necessarily accurate ) Quote Selected
eltronic cluster issues Reply #11 – February 11, 2017, 12:47:53 AM The missing bars is an error. If you ground or unhook certain sending units they do that.Honestly, the digi dasg when working accurately, none of the guages work except the tach and temp guage. There more like an on off switch idiot light. Quote Selected
