Inline 6 in an 88 Ranger

Just outta curiosity would an inline 6 fit in a 1st gen ranger? The engine bay is about the same length, maybe an inch or so shorter, than the fox platform. I've been in the mood to do something different to my ranger. Plus I think a turbo 300 would be alittle more interesting than a 2.3T :D

Maybe a 200 or 250, but I think the 300 would be a little too big. :D

I could get some mesurements of a 70's 300 if you want. I dont think you would have any problem though. Also, I htink that the 250's are the same length anyways so....

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Cool. I think length and height measurements would be all I need. I dont care if I have to move the radiator closer to the front, as long as it aint gonna need anything major I'll probably do it.

or you could get electric fans and put them on the front side of the radiator

all you will need to know about the ford inlines. Some where on there is an article about TC'ing those beasts.. you might have a deck height issue with the 300 but you can always mount it low if you are doing your own mounts. 250 and 300's were a bit longer and might be a squeeze but it "should" fit in there with out too many problems.

I just got done reading a post about supercharging a 200ci over there. Interesting stuff I will say. A 200 seems like a good engine to swap in there, plenty of things you can do to it, plus it should fit without too much trouble.
