It's just Ford's code name for the chassis, like MN12, DEW98, etc. All 94-04 Mustangs are SN95's.
2015 Mustang GT Premium - 5.0, 6-speed, Guard Green - too much awesome for one car

actually they are still based off the fox platform for the majority of it. from 79-04 is all the same, 05 is the 1st new platform since 79 for the mustang.

We know SN95 is based off the Fox body. It's still a separate designation. Plus there's my own personal designation for all Mustangs between 79 and 04: "PARTS CAR!" :D (I even have my fiance yelling it out once in awhile when we see one)

hmm I always looked at the parts car thing being the other way around...not alot is useful as far as motor wise, but my seats did come from a turbo coupe :p

Probably because I'm sick to death of seeing Rustangs of all ages all over the place. I swear sometimes it seems like they're more common than Escorts. They've lost any sense of being special to me, especially with the current and last body style.

I usually gauge things by how many I see in my usual afternoon trip, which is maybe 20 minutes round trip if it's a busy day. My record for spotting 83-88 T-birds and Cougars in one afternoon is like 4-5.. (plus maybe 2-3 Mark VIIs in an afternoon) I've seen that many '05 Rustangs in the same amount of time. (yes, all different cars.. and I don't pass a Ford dealer on a daily basis) Sometimes it seems like every third car on the road is an SN95. I still see 79-93s regularly, too. While you might think it's somehow good that they're that common, I see it as if every third car on the road was a Viper or a GT(40) or a Ferrari or an early '70s Corvette, to name a few examples.. when they're that common, you just stop caring when you see one.

true my dad offered me my 88 tbird for 1800 or a 92 mustang conv for 1200 i took the tbird and it had a bad main. mustangs arnt special anymore. tho i have noticed i put mustangs into 2 classes the v6 mustangs(pony's) or the cobras, gt's. they are still rare to see tho you see alot more of them then birds, cougars. and where do you life you see 4-5 of them. i seen 3 around my house and its always the same 3.
