gas tank straps

I need new straps for my gas tank and I was wondering if the straps for the 89-93 mustang will work being that I can get them from 50resto.com unless anyone knows where to get thunderbird specifc ones otherwise I might have to make my own.

thanks

No..the tanks on the Tbirds are much wider front to back than a Mustang tank....

I just ordered a set from rockauto.com for ~$21.00. They shipped, but I dont have them yet. They used to be listed on Advanced Auto Parts webiste (partsamerica), but they seem to have been dropped from there.

I will be installing them this weekend with a new fuel pump ;)

I have a pristine set from a '87, but the tank on the later Birds are 22 gal vs 18 on the '83s so I doubt they would fit.

the 83-86 cats at least have 22 gallon tanks too. I dont see why they wouldnt work. I think that they are all interchangeable.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I was able to get straps for both of my '84s from PartsAmerica/Advance Auto.
