factory electric fan wiring question

Im curious on the wiring on my 83 TC.

Im putting a Explorer 5.0 in car using a 90 Mustang engine harness.I will be removing all of the 2.3t harness but I havent looked yet to answer my own question on the factory fan wiring.

I know the 2.3 used a fan temp switch in the lower intake to turn fan on. Is the fan wiring in the engine harness or the chassis harness?

I would love to keep the e-fan wiring and install the 2.3 temp switch in the intake of my new 5.0 and have everything work just like factory and not have to think about it again.  Over the years I have had way to many aftermarket e-fan controller failures so if this wouldnt work I will just put a stock mechanical fan on.

You're going to have to make your own, the 90 Mustang uses a clutched driven fan.  The good news is that a 90 uses a A9x EEC, and those have internal provision for electric fan control.  You can pin into 2 places and use those to activate fan relays that you'll have to wire up.  You may have to use a TwEECer or a Quarterhorse as a means to enable fan control in the tune.  I built mine, you can search my posts for details.  I used a V6 Fusion fan, some relays, and a thermostatic fan switch from an Escort GT (the low temp one) so with my 180 degree thermostat, my fan activates on high at 207.  I had to make a port to install the switch in, but that's because I didn't know about onboard fan control at the time, and I was still on a SD EEC at the time anyway.
