1984 5.0 thunderbird cfi won't start? HELP

Hey guys at it aging, when I parked  this car it ran.. I cleaned up some shotie wiring, replace and cleaned the grounds..Replaced the positive wire to the solenoid. . I have spark, but won't start.. Sprayed starter fluid and it fired on that???Then I followed up by watching the injectors spraying some gas in...I'm kinda thinking the injectors aren't spraying as good as they we're before? I put 91 octane with Lucas fuel treatment,or injector cleaner. .Don't remember exactly what one it was.. But it won't fire on the gas it's getting?
.

If it starts on fluid you have bad fuel or a fuel delivery issue... I'll say if you can see fuel from injectors it should try to start, that is unless it's over fueling... BUT if it were over fueling, likely it wouldn't try to start on starting fluid...

How old is that gas? How long has it been sitting?

I know on my 85 turbo, there is a rubber tube between the in-tank fuel pump and the top plate on the sending unit. This tube dries out and cracks. This will cause you to have inadequate fuel delivery. You'll get some, but not enough. I am not sure if the CFI motors had this same issue, but its something to look into.

The car sat for awhile before I got it..I put a battery in it and it started up..Drove it home so I know it ran good, And I just put the fuel in it fresh 5 gal 91 octane with fuel treatment.. And it won't fire over? How do I go about testing to see if I have the right amount of pressure in the line?  I know there's a low pressure line and a high pressure line.. But don't know how about  goin about testing the pressure in the line or what one to test? I went a rented a master fuel injection test kit from congress  auto. . But need some help with how to go about doin it?  AND  buy the way I definitely hear the fuel pump turning on when I turn the key..??

There should be a regulator to limit pressure. Technically you should be testing it after the regulator.

My 86 sefi motor has no test port on the fuel rail like most 86-88 sefi cars do, so I get a small peice of rubber hose and pull my fuel filter off and test it on the output side of the fuel filter.

This will tell you if your pump is working and if your getting enough fuel through the filter. It will not tell you your regulated fuel pressure, however.

Turbo coupe is on the right track. Try starting fluid. If it starts on the starting fluid you have a fuel problem, if it doesn't its electrical/sensor related.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Yup, jump the fuel pump wire in the test connector and the fuel pump will run as long as the key is on. I'd just unhook the fuel filter, but you seem to be adverse to that for some reason.

If you have a fuel Schrader valve somewhere under the hood, use it. It looks like a air tube fill up thing for your tires. My car does not have a test port, which is why I tested mine off of the fuel filter. If I had an under hood fuel pressure tester port, I would much rather use that then crawl under neath the car, get my self covered in gas when I pull the filter hose off and then let it spill all over me while I try to hook a rubber hose over the end of the filter, but that's just me.
