oil pan gasket July 13, 2015, 02:45:48 PM Can I change the oil pan gasket on 93 thunderbird. 5.0 engine without pulling the engine all the way out. We thought the rear main was leaking. We pulled all the exhaust and removed the drive line to start dropping the tranny. Pulled the inspection plate off the tranny and it was bone dry around flex plate and torque converter. We are thinking its the oil pan gasket but there is not much clearance around the oil pan.Let me know your thoughts. Quote Selected
oil pan gasket Reply #1 – July 13, 2015, 04:17:57 PM Going to have to raise the engine to get the oil pan out. No other way.As a FYI this forum is dedicated to Fox Thunderbirds/Cougars, the last of which was produced in 1988. Your Thunderbird being a 1993 is a MN-12 chassis car. You'll find more technical info for your car on this forum as it's MN-12 Thunderbird/Cougar specific: http://forums.tccoa.com/ Quote Selected
