Disconnecting cables below throttlebody help?

Im currently in the process of removing the upper manifold and now I have came to the last step of removing the throttle cables below the throttle body.

How the heck do you unscrew them from the plate that swivals with the spring?  Wish I knew what it was called so i could give more of a description...

but there is two cables... one probably going to the tranny and one to the pedal. How do I go about removing these so I can attach them to my new manifold.

Thanks for your help again. Also I am painting my valve covers and the new manifold blue today. Looks pretty decent so far.

the one is just a ball joint jyust pull downt hard. and the other one unclips somehow. I broke the one off before I figured that out. What manifold are you throwing in?

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

a HO manifold that is in way better shape.  I got it for a couple bucks off a kid who replaced his manifold with a gt40 i believe. He lives in a town where the Mustangs are about equal to how many cows are out in the fields. Ya remember I live in the hick belt of PA.

Steve-O, easier way to do it..

Remove the two 10mm bolts that hold the bracket onto the throttle body, and just leave all the cables on. Stand on the passenger side of the car, and behind the throttle body, and in front of the EGR valve, are the bolts for that bracket.

BTW, one goes to the cruise control (with the clip), and one goes to the throttle pedal. The kickdown cable is the one closest to you, if you stand on the passenger side of the car. It sort of twists out of the bracket.

hey uh erics way is better. All that you undo is two little bolts and it just hangs. It will not changed anything even if you pull on it alittle. My way, you have to undo it anyways and pull the cords out.
