BTW, were those courtesy lights on the center console an 83-only thing?

You could order wire wheel covers on any non Turbo Coupe or Sport Thunderbird. My Thunderbird came with wire wheel covers and it's a factory 5.0 car.
88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.

LOL, yeah I know one has nothing to do with the other, it's just what I've usually seen.

First time I saw those, I thought they were only on the Heritage, but I've seen them on base models too, was there one on each side?

I'll admit the 85 is nice but man do I hate when sellers take pics right after giving it an obvious hose down

Yes, one one each side.  My 83 TC has them too so it was across all models.

Before I put new front control arms on my Thunderbird they had surface rust while the rest of the undercarriage had none. Heck even the stock rear control arms on my Thunderbird still have the factory paint markings on them. Maybe Ford just didn't paint the front control arms very well?
