Temperature Gauge Sender Location February 15, 2015, 01:42:45 PM I've got a '54 Ford Sedan that P.O. swapped a 5.0 from an '88 Cougar into. I don't know anything more about the donor vehicle (as in digital vs. buttstuffog cluster). The temp gauge is good but recently stopped working. The only temp sensor I can find is a two-wire device, next to the distributor. It also tests good, I have been told this only feeds data to the computer. My questions - Did an '88 Cougar have a separate temp sender for the gauge? If so, where would it be located? The only places I don't have good visibility to are under the intake and at the back of the block (engine sits very close to firewall) but I don't see any likely wires coming from those areas. Thanks,Brad Quote Selected

When you are standing in front of the engine, the ECM sensor is on the left (behind the thermostat housing), and the gauge sender is on the right. If I recall correctly, the gauge sender is a 1-wire.
