Wait a minute.....are you telling me that it's snowing and cold in the WINTER time? NO WAY? It's like this  has never happened before. WAIT!!! The next thing I know, SOMEBODY is going to tell me some pile of  about it being wicked hot down here in the middle of summer. No way!!!

Oh shiznit!!!! It's another Polar Vortex!!  Grab your panties and scream!!!  Seriously, there must be nothing else like bombings, mass suicides, and even the government is not shaging up big enough to top a snow storm that the NE is pretty much used to getting a couple times a winter....I love our "news" channels and all their "award winning reporting".

Might be pretty serious...I think at least three states have put a ban on travel. NYC has stopped all mass transit as of 11PM last night.

We got 2 and half feet of snow in the Blizzard of February 2011, and it really screwed shiznit up here. We couldn't leave the property for 3 days straight...it was on the 4th day that they cleared our road and the neighbor came down with his tractor and plowed out our driveway. Not that there was anything open to go to anyway...I think my work was about it...they called me, asked if the supervisor could make it out to my house to pick me up, as he had a lifted 4x4. I said "dude, we got drifts 6 feet deep, and the road by the mailbox is packed in with enough snow to bury a school bus." I got those 3 days off with no point...and no pay.

I'd say what the Island is getting tonight and today and tomorrow is going to be worse than what they've had in some years.

I remember that storm. We got 22 inches here. Had 6+ feet drifts in my driveway. One advantage of living in a major metropolitan area is that by the next day the roads were clear and everything was open.

We got 5-6", mostly ice pellets which didn't even drift around. Seems the surest way to avoid a blizzard around here is to forecast one...

We got around 14-15 inches.  Apparently 3 more is on the way tonight.  The wind actually kept my roof clear so I was happy about that.
