E7s or GT40 ?

Anytime you mill heads, it effects how your lower intake lines up, so take that into account as well.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

When you do the GT40 heads, whatever headers, explorer intake, i would also assume bigger throttle body.  Your speed density computer and 14lbs injectors are going to have know idea whats going on....so you will need to address that when doing the upgrades.

All that stuff falls by the wayside when doing the HO swap.

OP, you can also use the Explorer TB for a little gain over the stock HO unit. There's a few posts on how to go about it. You WILL need to scavenge some parts from the HO TB, so make sure you have one.

As Graham mentioned, the BBK 151's are great, though you'll still have to finesse the one bolt a little. If you're going to work over the heads, go with the P's, just throwing them on the block, and running, may as well save a little hassle and go with the GT40. Of course, if you're going to get aftermarket headers, the 1515 don't cost any more than those for NON-P heads.

With the above combo, as mentioned, you'll be right around the 300 horsepower mark. Also, keep in mind GT40/P heads use different plugs than the HO engines...make sure to grab a set before the swap.
If you're doing a cam swap, now is also a great time for a new timing set.

I've done all this to my 5.0 over the summer, just waiting on some time to put it in the car.

If they are gt40's then you can run any fox header. Only the "p" heads need special ones.

If you get the BBK 1515's (I have them on my Coupe on the 331) you may want to work them over a little bit.  See this thread on page 3 and post 22:
