First to get it into safe mode tap F8 about once every second. Its right above 9 and 0. If it is crashing on the scan disk, it is a problem with windows, or possibly a bad hard drive. Try safe mode, not the safe mode with network support. Any additional support that you might need, pm me or email me. Email in sig.
*edit* also do you have the option for last known good configuration? also use the administrator account if you can then run a system restore in start > all programs > accesories > system tools > system restore. Then select restore my computer to an earlier time. Pick a date when it was workign. I would not recomend going back more then 2 weeks, if you were using your computer every day. This is just to try to help with file curroption. Also get more ram! xp crawls with a slow computer and no ram. Xp itself uses 128 mb so the restore is coming from your virtial memory, which is off of your hard drive. That means slow.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

as long as you have the full version of windows xp and not have to format then yeah you should be good.
