Carlisle 2014

I'm trying to book a room because this year I am planning on staying the whole weekend. Looking at the hotles on the carsatcarlisle site, the Best Western is sold out for that weekend. I am thinking of the Days Inn Carlisle North. has anyone else stayed at this one? Is anyone staying there this year? Any suggestion from personal experiences at other hotels in the area?

Good luck...hotels are the major reason why I don't really go to many car shows anymore. I'm sooooo tired of staying 35 minutes away from the fairground every. Single. Time. Takes all the fun out of the trip for me. I never stayed anywhere in or near Carlisle, just outlying areas (Mechanicsburg, etc.).

The Days Inn I am looking at is less than 10 minutes away. Maybe I'll just go ahead and book it.

Still has rooms available.  Cracker Barrel is 100 yards from the front door.  Indoor pool and hot tub.  I've stayed here before and I'm booked for this year again.

With the new exhaust sitting here in a box that's gonna be on once it's not 5 degrees, I think he'll be scared off.

NATO gets a block of rooms at that Days Inn every year.  It's extremely convenient to the fairgrounds.  I am cheap so for the past couple of years I have stayed at the Western Village RV park.  Two nights there costs less than one at the Days Inn.  I can get to the Days Inn from Western Village in a couple of minutes so it's still extremely convenient to the fairgrounds.

So....

over the weekend my wife mentions that we never got the packet from Carlisle Events that we've gotten in years past when pre-registering.  I called them today.  They mailed it out May 17th.  Should take 2-3 days through standard shipping via USPS to get to me from there.

Postal service just aint what it used to be.....

Now I have to go through the hassle of going and basically having to go through the registration process THERE even though I've done it already......

Thanks US Post Office.  You've lost so much  of mine in the past 2 years it's unreal.  If you were a person I'd have fired you.

Oh, that sucks. Well at least you'll have good weather--I, the Bringer of Rain, won't be there! Hope you have fun.

Too bad you won't make it but thanks in advance for the good weather. :hick:  I recall many rainy years you must have attended.

Went through Sandusky area not long ago.  Nice country out there.
