Steering column part source need

Anyone have a good source for a upper steering column bearing? The heat in Texas and Florida has killed my steering wheel and melted a black goo out from between the leather stitching. Now when I turn the bearing squeeks. Going to try to clean and repack it but if that doesn't work would like to install a new one. Anyone have a source to buy from?

You sure it's not the horn ring contacts squeaking? They tend to get dry. Worse, they tend to completely come apart. If the faint (and rare) Nova Scotia sunshine caused mine to explode one day when I lent the car to my mother, causing the horn to go off every time she turned the wheel, I can well imagine what Texas heat would do to one....

Sounds like the horn rings to me too. Mine squeaked for a while and then one day while turning, it came apart and locked up the wheel. That sucked!

newbie here with a '88 Cougar XR7. I started to suffer the "horn at every turn" syndrome. I had to yank the circuit breaker in order to drive. I had the horn pad pulled, the copper looks worn the foam is just sitting there. A new/replacement could fix me. Does anyone have a source for the horn ring assembly? pn is e5sc13k802bwb. thanks!
