And it's cheap for an NOS part. I've swapped them before when I had a cassette player. Super easy to do.

what the heck is the terminology used here "Cassette Mechanism"?

integrating slide rule into the description and such with no picture is confusing.

You simply remove the screws from the stereo casing and remove it. Then the cassette mechanism can be unscrewed and pulled out. It's a very simple replacement. Just takes a short amount of time. SO, if your cassette player doesn't work....now it can easily.
