I'm the second owner of this 87 Cougar XR7

A few weeks ago I was driving down the street when all of a sudden I saw this. I immediately knew that I had to acquire this. And so I did. I'm the second owner of this near mint XR7.

It's been an alright summer so far.

I have plans to have a flowmaster 40 and tip put in sometime this week so the V8 can be a bit more vocal.

I'm partial to XR7's.  The tires on your new ride look like they were recently replaced.

That was just on craigslist recently I think? Saw it on the LI one anyway. They were very reasonable with the ask IMO and it appeared to be real nice in the ad. Looks like indeed it was. Good find!!!

It may have been what you saw listed on CraigsList (it was listed on there). The tires do appear new, which is kinda sweet considering what I paid for the car. The engine (which I haven't photographed but should) turns out to be one the best parts of the car; new radiator, new battery, very clean and fresh. The car drives happily other than the lurch of getting into overdrive gear (I assume that's normal for cars like this, correct me if I'm wrong). Two jugs of transmission fluid were included with the purchase (among other cool things that came with the car back in 1987).

I'm dropping her off tomorrow night for Wednesday's Flowmaster ler and tip installation. The garage I go to specializes in Fox-body coupes/sedans, so they naturally enjoy working on cars like the XR7. I'll put up some photographs after I get her back. I wonder how the car will sound with the new ler...

I also ordered some fresh Hawk Brake pads for the front which should arrive tomorrow or wednesday; the fronts are shot (I think the warning whistle is happening).

I've been enjoying the car as is though, very comfortable (the seats are excellent), and the suspension is surprisingly good as well.
