Thunderbird and Cougar Body Moulding

Last year, the passenger side front moulding piece that goes around my turn signal light on my 88 Thunderbird fell off, and I haven't been able to find a way of getting one through eBay, craigslist, or on the forum so far.  By looking at pictures of the 1988 Cougar (if optioned this way), the moulding piece surrounding the turn signal light looks the same as it does on a 1988 Thunderbird

I understand on some places on the cars, the moulding pieces may not be the same.  But those side front side pieces look quite alike.

Are they the same?

It is the same part. The 87-88 Thunderbirds and Cougars have the same belt molding. If you find one from a Cougar it will interchange with your Thunderbird fine. It's the same part :).

BTW the doors, front fenders, and hood are the same as well.

I knew about the hoods and doors being the same.  Thanks for your help, hopefully this will give me a better chance of finding the piece.

I may (don't get your hopes up :hick:) have one of those in a parts box.  I seem to recall finding a really nice clean piece at a junkyard one time and couldn't walk past it. :D

Not sure if it's the same piece or if the tabs are intact but I'll take a look.
