03/04 Cobra Engine

I did a quick search and didn't find anything on it, but has anyone put the 03/04 Cobra motor/tranny in the 'Bird?  I know peeps have done it in the Fox Mustang, but just curious if anyone has dropped it into our specific platform.

considering the mustang and the bird are the same platform.... Not as far as I know at least. If we all had that much money to litterly throw away we prolly wouldnt be driving $200 and $300 birds and cats.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Some of us have 25-30 times that in our cars(and I'm using the $300 figure as a multiplier)...

The install would be 99% the same as a Stang, engine bays are the same size.

To some its not about the cost of the car, but the memories within the car.  My 'Bird was my first car that was handed down to me by my father in in '94.  He bought the car in '88.  I love it even though it hasn't moved in 10 years. :-)

That's what I had assumed.

Someone is doing it to a Mark VII.  Apparently the firewall needs a lot of hammering to get it in!

Why not just do this.

I mean there is no problem with the 4.6 swap but it is alot of work and you can have just as much fun with twin turbos.

ive been planning and researching this swap for what seems like forever now....i was actually planning on an 01 cobra motor and a novi2k or possibly kenbell.

in reality what will probably happen first is a 98 lsc motor because its so much cheeper and when your saving for a house not alot of money trickles into project cars. besides, it will keep the cost down while working the bugs out of the swap and it is very simmilar to the cobra motor. it will happen but when is still up in the air. i have been working a ton of overtime while its buisy. the car needs alot done before it realy needs another engine though...
