Gotta love breaking down...

Well, my 93 thunderbird's trans finally started slipping in all gears down visiting my girlfriend. This is what I picked up across the street from where I broke down....XXX

Its an 84 Camaro Z28. With a 60 over 350, torker intake, 600 holley carb, basic stockish 350, rv cam. Needs a starter (no hot start and grinds a little on start up), and new 5 speed trans, clutch brake pedal assembly, but not bad for $2600?? I stole the wheels from my chevy S10 project, I think it suits the car.

I am seriously thinking about throwing in a T56 6 speed from an LT1 4th Gen Camaro. Seems pretty straight forward, use all the clutch, hydraulics, flywheel, linkage from the donor car, just use my existing clutch pedal. If its a 2 piece rear main on the block, then gotta go centerforce flywheel. Also gotta get the T56 crossmember and notch the shifter hole in the trans tunnel back 2 inches, this is easier than I thought:)

Well, can't find a T56 ANYWHERE! It is like trying to find GT40 heads in junkyards in Canada, nothing in my area, picked clean before the cars are ever released in the yard by the employees. I am just gonna rebuild what is in there. Tremec T5. I can find LS1 T56's but I need LT1 T56, not big deal, the 5 speed is ok.
