Ignition switch removal 88 TC

So say a guy ends up with an 88 TC with half a key. can I get one made from the door lock or do I have to take the whole steering column in to the locksmith. Also how would a person forcibly remove the switch without a key. Can I just drill out the locking pin and remove it? Would really like to try and start it today.

The lock(not switch, that's the  rectangular part with wires on it down on the column) must be in the on or acc(I forget which) position to remove... If you can't move it from the lock position, AFAIK you'll have to drill it out... Meaning drill down through the key opening till the tumblers are destroyed and it can be unlocked... There is a locking plate that the assembly fits through that makes the lock impossible to remove unless it's in the on or in acc position(again I forget which)...

Your only choice is take the whole column to a locksmith or have them make a service call...

BTW can't make a key from door as those locks don't have as many tumblers in them as the ign lock...

Thats what I figured about the door lock. Guess I will pull the column.

Where is the fuel pump relay located? I want to power it up and see what happens.

its behind the back seat near the trunk hinge area passenger side.

pull the Colum and take it to the lock smith. I did this with a junkyars colum sans key, $20, bitterly seconds and it was done.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
