i have swapped drum brakes to disk (from 87 turbo coupe)picked up a proportioning valve at junk yard from Lincoln,my master cylinder has 3 ports (two in the side, to the prop valve,1 in bottom to rear brakes)my proportioning valve has 4 ports (two on top from master,two on bottom,to front brakes?)the valve from the salvage yard has 5 ports , will this work and is it simply a plumbing re fit?:burnout:

How about this. This works nicely. Simple and direct to the point. Normally i condense the fronts together with a trailer fitting. That makes the front brakes a single line to the master. Then i run the rears from the wellwood valve. Just something to think about!! The bracket is home made from some junk i had laying around. I do not run a differential valve and or a hold off valve. It just complicates the plumbing and there is no way to make it neat in my view.

the car stopped fine untill i put the new rear end in now just dont want to stop, replaced master cylinder , but car sat in garage for over 10 years(master cylinder was just replaced ) but now i am wondering about the booster?

You need more pressure to the rear disc brakes. If i am reading you correctly you swapped out the rear drums to DISC. That will need a different setup as the discs need more pressure from the master. What diameter is the master cylinder?? And what booster are you using. (stock i am thinking) This is important to make the system work correctly. YOUR MASTER MAY HAVE TO BE CHANGED OUT. The port configuration is simple. Ford uses the master for the cross over from right to left on the front brakes. The Lincoln does it at the valve and not at the master. That is why i use a 2 line master with the trailer fitting. It is much neater and easier to set up. Good luck!!

You need to go here and read this from page one to the end...twice. I think after that you will have a much better idea as to all the possible combinations and what will work on your car.

Tom's suggestion will work as well but I like the shuttle feature in the stock combination valve. I just gutted the proportioning valve out of the combination valve, installed the plug (http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/M2450A/Mustang-Brake-Proportioning-Valve-Plug), and used a Wilwood manual valve like Tom shows in his setup.
