Back to the video; you'd think there were enough big strapping lads there to lift the front back up and finish the loading, but they were so close that I really thought they were going to make it.
You can't assume people are stupid based on where they come from.  I learned that when I was 19.  I was in a k-mart parking lot waiting for my ,now EX, wife to get out of work, when I spotted 2 Mexican fellows having trouble with their mid-nineties something dodge.  From my pov it seemed like they suspected the fuel pump, as one was underneath with a hammer.  Their solution was genius.  The took off the hood, one went back in the store, while the other went over to the gas station at the edge of the lot. The first one came back with a gallon jug of insecticide which he emptied into a drain and then rinsed out with water.  The second came back with a full 2 gallon gas can he must have bought and filled at the station.  The insecticide bottle had a pistol sprayer on a hose, so they filled the bottle with gas, took off the air cleaner, and proceeded to spray fuel into the TB (those trucks had a TB like a 4 bbl carb) as the other tried to start the truck.  It worked, and after a couple minutes they figured out a rhythm and left the lot with the truck under it's own power.  About 10 minutes later, I passed them 5 or 6 miles down the road doing 35 or 40 on the shoulder, one crouched low on the right side of the engine bay still spraying fuel into the engine.  I don't consider Mexicans to be stupid anymore.  Maybe reckless, but definitely NOT stupid.

This is what I was getting at. "Red Neck" has come to mean a person or group of people who don't put any forethought into their actions, with often disastrous results. It’s not limited to a region of the country but rather is ubiquitous around the world. The term is often associated with people from the southern US, hence the “not exclusive to the south anymore”. In reality “Red Necks” never were.

“Red Necks” can be entertaining at times, even though they can make a person cringe.

Most of the ones around here I've came into contact with are about as sharp as a wet dollar bill, they do at least work for their living though, and don't rely exclusively on welfare to get by, like another lazy-ass segment of the populous so often does here. I have respect for them for that. They do excellent upholstery work in their shops around here as well. I don't take my cars anywhere else.
