Bugatti 0-186 in <14 sec

Bagadi (sp?)
 
new issue of hot rod mag i think brings out the new bagadi.
64 valve
W-16 cyl
0-60 in less than 3 sec
0-186 in <14sec
4 superchargers
7speed tranny
hide away spoiler pops out to bring you from 253 mph to 50mph in record setting time without a wheel skid at .6 gforce.

I was wondering what a "bagadi" was :D I changed the title for you

I didn't click on the links (dialup), but I've read about it in car magazines. The frickin' thing is said to have a top speed of north of 250 MPH!!! Take THAT, Ferrarri :D

im doing dial up also,, the links dump pretty quick for my connection of 21.6.

this whole buzz word "W16" floored me while i was at the dentist yesterday.  The dentist said he remembered VW had a "w" engine out a few years ago but i dont seem to recall that.


Ford faired nicely with Ferrarri in a meet recenly in Italy.  I think ford and ferrarri met up neck and neck on an overall back road race and performance tests.

I like the ford rotory thumb wheel they put on the steering to control the 4wheel drive train system.  I think ford called it an "organic" system while ferrarri's was electronic.  god only knows what is meant by organic.,perhaps a simple solution for the varible speed diff? not polluted with electonics?

VW and Audi (and now Bently) have a few "W" engines out. The 8-cylinder Passat has a W-8, as does the Phaeton and Toureag. The Bently has a W-12. Pretty neat engine design - one crankshaft, four banks of cylinders, two cylinder heads, four camshafts. Each pair of banks is at a very narrow angle (something like 15 degrees) to allow the single cylinder head. This design first appeared in the VR6 engine - the W-12 is essentially two VR6 blocks fused together to share a crankshaft.

The W8 is dead, already. At least the ones in the Passat. They changed to transverse with this last redesign.

Anyway, I've been following the Veyron since the concept came out a good three years ago. They had to make special tires rated for 400kph, since the top speed is 406. It uses quad turbos (not SC's) and four ECU's. The clincher (that says none of us will likely ever see one, let alone drive one) was the 16 diamond instrument cluster. 7-spd sequential manual (clutchless).



This is two narow angle V8's set at 90 degrees. It's more like two straight eights, since it's two heads. Just like the VR6 is more like an I6 than a V6.

As far as I know, they're only building 100, and they were pretty firm on that number. And they'll go for a lot more than a million, if the Enzo went for more than that, and there were 399 of those.
