electroinics parts

looking for a way to purchase just one part,, ie- a quad NOR 14pin chip.
went to radio shack and wasnt really able to have a good selection.

i want to have on just incase i need to add it to my defective auto lamp module,, need to have it on stand by just in case.

problem is most places i have called cant sell just one,, min 50$ order, and in one case min 500$ order.  well, thats a lot of chips!!!!!!!

sure you could have some fun with logic chips but i have my ambitions rather spread out so i dont see myself tinkering with that many ic's right now.

if anyone has a spare quad NOR chip, id appreciate it

The chip in mine is mm5601bn.  Crosses to NTE4001BT. Searched at Newark.com, 4 results all 14 pin, 3 are through hole mount, 1 is surface mount. My search results all are minimum order quantity of 1 unit.  Original NTE is 99 cents, the others are less.

yes, same pn as mine,
I saw the same min order of 1 unit,, "but when i went to test" the order by calling them, they needed min 50$ per order.

i have not looked at your search results though, mine were all the same.

i will try digikey tomorrow on line then call them to place the order,, i need to completly understand what is meant by "Dual source" within the pn description.,, but if it crosses over to what your saying, then i dont need to.
