PickNPull Builders? December 27, 2012, 09:46:00 PM Anyone bought a "Builder" Car from Pick N Pull? How did the Title come out for you? Quote Selected
PickNPull Builders? Reply #1 – December 28, 2012, 08:08:45 AM Yes, many. It will have a Salvage/Rebuilt Title. That is the way the law is setup, and there is no legal way around it unfortunately. Your car will have a Salvage title, but that only matters as far as hurting the re-sale value of the car should you restore it, and then try and re-sale it. If you are planning on keeping it for yourself, then it shouldn't matter either way. Quote Selected
PickNPull Builders? Reply #2 – December 28, 2012, 10:06:45 AM I thought if it had a salvage title, it would have to be repaired and pass a rigorous salvage inspection before being granted a "rebuilt title". Maybe its different from state to state. Quote Selected
PickNPull Builders? Reply #3 – December 28, 2012, 06:21:23 PM Here in North Carolina, Salvage/Rebuilt is the same title. After you get it titled, the only inspection you have to go through is the standard state safety inspection that all pre-95 vehicles have to go though. We live in a very old car friendly state here, and it's a pretty easy process all the way though, but some states (like NY) will fight/delay you as much as they possibly can when it comes to actually getting the title issued. PickNPull Builders? Reply #4 – December 28, 2012, 06:40:08 PM Here in Connecticut the salvage inspection is dreaded by hobby mechanics. I've never been to one myself, for that reason. Quote Selected
PickNPull Builders? Reply #5 – December 30, 2012, 09:25:27 PM Argh, Not was I was wanting to hear... :(Did they salvage brand them before or after the physical inspection process?Up here they claim the physical inspection is purely checking for matching VINs and Stolen Parts. Quote Selected
PickNPull Builders? Reply #6 – December 31, 2012, 11:12:39 AM I gets branded with the Salvage title right off the bat, and cannot be changed back ever again here in NC. The physical inspection before you get the title issued to you, is done by a DMV Theft inspector, who is only making sure that you aren't trying to re-title a stolen car. Quote Selected
