Hey, with the pictures you posted of the car sitting in the JY waiting to be crushed and the story that goes along with it, a salvage title wouldn't bother me at all.  Adds to the character of the car and you did a good thing saving it! :hick:

When transferring some titles in PA, they only asked for a VIN etching.  Maybe you can explain the situation and be able to do it with pictures and an etching?

Be up front and honest with them and maybe they will work with you. ??

IF you need to transport the car there and back, maybe you can find a local enthusiast in the area (Mopar fan) :D with a rollback/trailer. If someone local saved a TBird you bet I'd try to help them out.

Don't worry, with a little time and patience, all should be good.

I think here in PA they issue a 'R' tile which means Rebuild but can still be driven. Is it the same way there with a salvage title?

Good luck and keep us posted.

I forget when and where I was told this, but the reason they want the car brought to the state police check is so that if it were to come up stolen, they'll just confiscate the  thing right there. Done.

Hope it works out! Definitely a good piece, I'd say it would be worth the hassle at that price, that will obviously turn heads everywhere and be the darling of every cruise-in especially if you can build up a nice motor with a lopey idle and a rumbling exhaust. And unless you're trying to sell it to make money off it, who cares about the title? If it's one that will let you drive and enjoy it...sold! :D

A simple trip to the DMV to ask questions, And I walk out roughly $130 lighter than what I walked in with... But also came out with Registration, Plates and Tabs!
I dunno what the lady did or if she was even supposed to... But I got past having to do the physical inspection at the SP. And I'm surely not complaining!
Title to come in 6-8weeks! (I screwed up and forgot about the quick title option).
It does have a Notation that was submitted by the PickNPull stating it was there at one point and "SOLD" on 12/17/12. This shows up on a sub category type thing "Junk & Salvage" However there are still no actual Brands on the title.
2 DMV ladies assured me it should not be branded if it hasn't already. Not to mention I'm already Registered, Plated and Tabbed.

Nice! Too many people say too much at the DMV, and then get told they "Can't do that". I only ever offer up what they ask for or what I KNOW they need. Anything else usually just causes you a headache. Always go prepared with everything you can think that they might want though. Waiting in line for an hour and a half to be told you don't have something would suck.

SICK. As you said...the stuff is in your hands...the title is on its way. All's well that ends well! :) Should be one helluva fun ride.

LOL! That IS it's brand right there in that sub category, and is what future buyers of the car would see once they got the title in hand, or did a "carfax" type search on the VIN number.

Only hurts the value of the car though, nothing else. Enjoy that beast regardless!

Meh,
Was hoping to keep any value intact.

I may just one day decide to sell it.
It looks better than it is in some areas and trim pieces are either insanely expensive or hard to find originals that arent re-made. Bumpers would set me back around $700 alone.
I dunno why it features the "Sport" tag. Only has the 318/A904 TorqueFlite and 8-3/4 open rear~There were certainly better power options at the time.
It is loaded otherwise though, I'll give it that, Just about every (If not every) non muscle car type option.

Don't mean to sound like a downer, Having issues with the T-Bird progress and found the issue with the clicking on the Satellite...
Rear exhaust mani bolt on drivers side is snapped off, The bolt head was dangling in the mani hole. So its going to be flush or worse.
I also noted odd arcing (In daylight) between the throttle linkage and the back of the drivers cylinder head/valve cover area...

I REALLY wasn't looking for another project that needed to immediately go into a top end tear down and rebuild, Especially with he risk of other bolts and odds and ends breaking on an old car.

*HEAVY SIGH*

On an upper,
The Title came~It's nice and Green and Clean. Maybe that would help the value "IF" I did end up selling it.
Only have room for 2 of my own cars, And The T-Bird is my Baby and isn't running right now.

PS: Any idea how much a legit mechanic might charge to get the broken bolt out and rebuild the top end (Heads & intake) with All materials supplied?
