Lincoln Navigators..

Anybody here have and close and personal experience with them?

There's one for sale locally and the wife and I are weighing on the purchase.
I know the 5.4 can and will at some point have spark plug issues, but short of visiting LincolnsOnline, what are some of the basic things Navi's are pr0ne to?

This one is an '02, has the full time 4wd, and is pretty well loaded, lighted running boards, moonroof, heated mirrors, etc.

The pains has a few scuffs here and there, a big tear in the pass. seat, and the spare is MIA, but as long as it's mechanically sound (haven't had a chance to drive it or check into it yet) I don't mind the paint scuffs, and I can get another seat or even have the stocker recovered.

Lay it on me peeps :D

be gentle with the sparkplug swaps, start them by hand yadda yadda...  you will enjoy this one ;)  if it has the air ride, you may have some issues but the spring conversion is about $270 iwe had to convert our Expedition because the air pump locked up. Highway driving we have seen 21 mpg at 55 mph and 17 mpg at 70 mph. engine holds 7 quarts

I have an 03 and other than minor things its been good. The previous owner replaced the air suspension and the tyranny under extended warranty. All I have done is swapped in an electric fan. Its comfy and a cruiser down the highway.

The Navis have 4valves, I didn't think they had plug issues

I wasn't sure if the 4v 5.4 had plug issues or no. I looked under it Saturday when I got off work, seems like it may have had springs under the rear? Will check again tomorrow though, going to try and nail down someone there so we can drive it.

One thing for sure, I sure as hell ain't buying it for the fuel mileage, or lack thereof :O lol

What's funny and ironic....my wife is a straight up Chevy gal, but she really likes this Navi...there's a Yukon XL (basically a Suburban) next to it...she can't stand it..lol

Might just have to change my username to LincolnNavigator5.4 :rollin::rollin:

Since I'm a bit of an underground prophet, there will be no world ending bullshiznit on 12-21, and when GSP and Anderson Silva meet, Spider will sub GSP in the second round.
