Headlamp differences on our car November 01, 2012, 04:03:50 PM Take a look at the picture I posted below. The lamp on the left is the passenger and the lamp on the right is the driverNotice how the reflective surface of the passenger is much smaller than the reflective surface on the driverThis is a matched set of headlamps however has anyone ever noticed this difference before ?You would think that the lamps would be the same and that they would simply be reversed negatives of each other Quote Selected
Headlamp differences on our car Reply #1 – November 01, 2012, 04:07:57 PM It's just one of those things you mentioned of engineering. The fluted lenses are also quite different. I would think that the driver side would be smaller though. Then again, I haven't played THAT much with the stock optics. Here where we drive on the right side of the road, you typically want more light on the right side of the vehicle. Projectors with their cutoff are brighter on that side to reduce glare to oncoming drivers to the left. With a flat surface and a camera with fixed settings, I'm sure you'd see something similar with the optics in these lights. Quote Selected
