My Buddy's Vette got totaled today October 11, 2012, 11:03:33 PM Stopped short on the highway for a minor accident in front of him, and stopped safely.....then the Jeep SRT/8 plowed him from behind throwing his rear end up and forcing the front down under a caddilac stopped in front of him. Miracle he walked away without a scratch, but i am sure he will feel it tomorrow. Quote Selected

They do, but the rear end damage was extensive. The Jeep hit pretty hard, and his airbags deployed. (Note the S&K speed shop plate frame on the Jeep) thats a local Long Island speed shop. They are usually more willing to pay for repairs to an older car if it has some type of collector insurance. If not you're friend should make a big stink till it gets fixed or they find him a Corvette of equivalent condition. I have collector insurance (Grundy) on the T-bird because if someone hits it I want it fixed or if it's totaled I want a car of equivalent condition plus the money to modify it as my T-bird sits now.I'm glad you're friend is ok. I went through the ringer with my Insurance company when my 70 Torino was blasted.......and you are right, i made a huge stink and did not relent, and they finally paid just to make me go away. Those Jeeps must be fast since I've seen several of them flying past me at 90MPH+. Maybe I'm getting old and cranky but I feel too many poor drivers can jump into a vehicle these days and easily exceed their abilities.Hopefully the insurance companies make the Jeep driver pay but still too much hassle.
