If only I had the cash...

I'd be picking this cherry up:

1985 T-bird on eBay

I put a watch on it just to see how much it goes for.  No doubt the owner probably wants a lot more than any T-bird enthusiast has.  He sounds an awful lot like the guy selling that Automatic TC a while back, wanted $10k or it or something. I'd almost feel bad modding a car like that, but it seems like it's the only way I'd be able to get a rust free car to start on.  In a couple years though, the harsh reality is that I'm going to have to find another car because the rust on the '85 I have now will take over.  Facts is facts, kids.... when you live in the rust belt, there's no saving a car that's already got the "malignancy."  I just need to have Tom pick me up a nice rust-free Virginia car  ;)

There's always my '88, if the mood hits me to get rid of it.. :p (not likely, but the mood also hits me to part out one of these cars at random, every so often.. a mood I've so far resisted)

No no no... it just SOUNDS exactly like the same guy.

And when did Ford start using a Bird on the grill AND a standup ornament?
Death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

1988 5.0 Bird, mostly stock, partly not, now gone to T-Bird heaven.

There is a definate possibility I will be selling the base '88(probably minus engine and trans). It is rust free(needs paint clear coat peeling), and already has a TC front brakes, 8.8" 3.55 rear, and buttstuffogue cluster.

Maybe a dealer-installed option?  Looks queer no matter what.  The only cars that I thought got stand-up ornaments were '83 Cougars.

No aerobird ever had the ornament.

Its amazing how the cleanest cars usually have some strange dealer/owner installed quirk on it. Then again, who else would buy a $13000 car and never use it!  She'd have been better off taking the cab. :)

Had a guy near my house once who had a black loaded 88 XR7 with 5,000 miles on it. That's right 5,000! He was seling it and he wanted $15,000 for it. Needless to say I didn't buy it but man it was a sweet car.

Not too long ago there was a red 83-86 Bird on eBay with something along the lines of 39 miles on it. Never titled, always kept in a climate controlled garage. I never did see what it went for or if the reserve was met or not...
