It looked just like it save for the tread tears. Like I said, that one tire I shredded doing a good burnout on some gravely pavement. But really I never did any good burns with that car until I got it tagged back and by then they were already shot which is why I roasted it.

I'm running BFG RTA's on two different rides now......the 351W Ranger (205/60 front, 275/60 rear) and my '88 Sport (225/60 all around). Traction in either of these cars can be hard to get on dry pavement but that's not the fault of the tires so wet roads would have not chance so I can't speak to wet road performance...neither see the road in the rain. But I've run enough other cars in all kinds of weather and have yet to really find a tire that sucked in the rain. I religiously stay away from a solid center bar and mostly solid outer bars. The only tires that did suck were Goodyear Wrangler RTS's on my F-150....they are the perfect soccer mom tire...solid center, solid outer bars and can go a lifetime without rotating but suck if you even have enough dampness to cover the grass.

I think I'll be going with the Firestones, they are cheaper and seem to be reviewed better on wetness.

I have 225/55/16 Firestone Firehawk GTs on my T-bird. The car can roast 'em on dry pavement easily. I've only driven it once in the rain with the tires and I had to start in 2nd gear to get any traction. I'm guessing this is not the fault of the tire. The do hold the road very good and ride well.

I've had Cooper Cobra's on mine for a few years now and I like them real well. Of course I don't drive it much, usually just car shows but occasionally I do get caught in rain and I can't say I've had any problems with them.

hmmm but Cobra Gt's are pretty expensive, and i'm kind of saving for a 5.0/351 swap so many decisions lol

Do you have any tire stores in your town that have take offs? One of our tire shops (Goodyear) back home would take the tires off a brand new car and give the person a lot of trade value on them if they put Goodyear tires on their car. I put a set of 205/65/15's on my Coupe back when I first bought it and it was a 4 banger that were take offs and they cost me around $200 installed.
