Took a vacation in Montana

Me and the wife decided to take a vacation trip for our 14 year wedding anniversary to see Glacier and Yellowstone National Park. This was our first flight we took together since we've been married, too. We flew out there Thursday and spent 5 days up there and docked 1,000 miles on the rental car. Camped in a tent one night in Glacier, and rented a cabin just outside Yellowstone. We have approx 1,400 pics, but only 400 are uploaded so far. Pics just don't compare to being there for sure.

Here's a link to my public FB album:

You couldn't get park close enough to it. There's a "village" that separates it from the parking lot. We rented a base model 2012 Subaru Impreza. 15" steel wheels, non-turbo, no cruise control, py radio, and had that trans that feels like it doesn't shift. Handled awesome though. I don't think the fairmont would have made it through the twisties. Haha!

I was out there in '94. I've traveled all over the west, and there's not a lot I've seen that can compete with Yellowstone.

I especially loved the porcelain basin, and the places where the pools are.

Someday I want to go back and climb Mount Washburn and visit the fire lookout tower there. I think a person could spend a coupla weeks there and not see everything..lol

I lived just north of Yellowstone as a teenager, and I loved the park. The real way to see it is on a bicycle though. Just watch out for the motorhomes.

Up next: FMIC, fresh air intake, ported intakes, ported big valve head.

The pic from the truckstop is how I've seen most of this country.

We loved it there. Didn't spend but a night at Glacier though. We camped off Lake McDonald in Fish Creek.
