Clever, cheap storage/organizing solutions...

I know many of you guys think outside the box. Anybody have any clever yet cheap-ish DIY storage and/or organizing solutions? Really, anything ingenious/clever DIY anything for around the house and garage.

When my dad built his garage, he put in upper and lower cabinets like you would find in a kitchen. The uppers he made the doors like 3 or 4 inch deep boxes. Most of them on the inside he put peg board in and hung tools and such. One of them, he made little shelves with a lip on them. In these tiny little shelves he put baby jars full of small nuts and bolts. It would take a very skilled carpenter to replicate them.

We took a 2x10 screwed a bunch of babyfood/olive/pickle jar lids to it and filled the jars with screws, nails, washers and a bunch of stuff and screwed the board to the rafters

When my parents bought the house I grew up in over 40 years ago we noticed this had been done in the basp00get , my parents are both deceased, my brother owns the house and the jars are still there
