GT40P heads, non P headers, and a workaround.

#8 plug. Too close.

#8 again. Definitely a no-go with this length of plug.

#5, 6, and 7, they have a fair amount of clearance.

#1,2,3, and 4 are fine

and 2, 3 and 4 again

I googled, and found that Accel has a shorter plug that may work. I'll be taking the head and header to town to test fit before I buy any 15 dollar apiece plugs! :-O

If that's still a no go, I guess I'll just spring for BBK headers, as I can't seem to find the Ford Racing P headers...

Thunder those short plugs are a joke!!!! They are shorter but like only a 1/4 of an inch at best. Unless they changed them from the last time i tried to use them??? Hope this helps. You are probably going to have to heat that tube and use a piece of plumbers pipe and try folding in a relief on that tube. I always try headers first before installing them so i can tweek them for clearance. If memory serves me and it has been a while that tube can be heated cherry RED and formed with a pipe and a BFH. The pipe does a great job of rounding  the tube nicely for plug clearance. This is from memory. Like i said been a long time since i did it.  Good luck.

The BBK's are great on the Sport. Just used 90 degree plug boots. No issues at all. Sell your headers, use that money to get a decent set of used BBKs. "P" specific headers are a bit costly, but are found easily through Ford racing, Summit, and even show up on the Corral, but even used ones are costly.

Vinnie, I've got a coupla leads on some BBK 1515's....I'll probably keep these and use on the Mustang. The HO engine currently in the Sport will go in the Stang when I can find an engine harness for a '90. I'll keep the E7's on that one.

I'll try the shorter plug first, but odds are, I'll probably get the BBK's...

I'm going to keep the other headers, use them on the HO when it goes into the Stanger...WHEN I find a wiring harness for it, that is..has to be '90, that year only is it's own animal, nothing else will work, unless I want to change out pretty well the whole body harness.
Hell with that, had enough of that with the Sport..lol
