code 214 cylinder idetification circuit failure August 05, 2011, 07:57:26 PM wondering if someone might be familiar with the overhead cam v8 that is in my 1994 lincoln town car. it started surging at idle so i ran the codes and got a 214 (cylinder identification circuit failure). there was also a 172/176 (lean condition) but they were there the last time I ran the codes and there was no surging idle at the time. thanks. any help would be appreciated.
