No Idea where this stuff goes

well, since I never had a v8 or an efi motor in a cougar..... I'm a little lost....

after deleting smog stuff and upgrading intakes.... I can't figure out where exactly some of this stuff goes....

first pic.... where do these 3 connect to.... 1 on the bottom and the 2 in the center.

next, where does this go? it's coming from the thingie on the back of the tower

B.......
where does this go to from under the intake?

7.....
this is still on the old stock intake...what is it? and where does it go to?

where does this go to?

what is this for?

2 vac lines coming from next to the  thingy on the strut tower.... the black one is labeled smog pump, but the white one is broken and is missing it's label

I seem to have more things then I have places to connect them..and some of it was poorly repaired.....
Is all this used with my new setup?

I'm sure this will be a piece of cake for everyone here... just remember, when you tell me where the stuff connects too.. that you tell me where it is. I have no clue what most of the stuff is called under here......but I can sure weld a car back together from a bunch of ss....lol

Bigger hose on vacuum tree goes to bigger line off back of intake. Small line off front of intake used to be for charcoal canister, cap it. Small line off rear of intake heading towards passenger side is for fuel pressure regulator I think. Brass barb off intake goes to PVC I think.

vac lines behind passenger strut tower were tad solenoids i think, emissions.

All of these are guesses, ive slept since I did them. I remember the exploder having more vac ports than necessary.

The thing in picture 4 is a vacuum solenoid that has seen better days. Most the ones I've seen of that type were used for the canister purge. I'm not sure if that's the case for you though because I've never owned an EFI 5.0.

This picture looks like more solenoids. You'll have to look in your shop manual to figure out which is which. Also, for vacuum stuff, there should be a vacuum diagram on a sticker on the fan shroud of the car or somewhere near it. It'll at least tell you where stuff used to go.

The gray connector in the bottom right corner of picture 4 and the one in the center of picture 6 look like they used to know each other. (Totally a guess, but hey, might be right.)

X2 on that

"next, where does this go? it's coming from the thingie on the back of the tower"
That looks like for EGR or Heater Vac source to me

Also I think the grey plug fits the blue plug.

I'll see if the 2 connectors fit, but I wasn't sure it it was for the smog pump, and if I needed it anymore

I'm standing in the house with air conditioning... because the heat index is 109  today...... maybe if someone could post a few pics of the same intake and where the lines connect, I could get a handle on the new stuff I didn't have before... supposed to be cooler this weekend...will try to get everything connected by sunday if I can get it sorted out.....Vinnie, what day are you off next?

OK, I'm thinking the big vac hose is to long for the intake as it is.....
Do I cap the purge canister, and the line that used to go to it?

is the vacuum solenoid that has seen better days, still being connected, or will it be going and not used

The solenoid connects to the plug up near the water pipe on the intake.

The vacuum hose from the charcoal canister goes to the front vacuum on the upper intake that's pointing straight out. I just got a new, long piece of hose that fit snug and ran it from the canister's purge solenoid to the intake.

The larger vacuum tube from the tree on the firewall goes to the bigger of the vacuums on the back of the upper intake. It just needs to be shorter.

The vacuum you're holding in your hand in the above pic goes to the vacuum tree on the back of the intake next to the larger hose.

The two vacuum lines over by the A/C canister can be capped off. They were for the smog equipment.

Let me know if I'm missing anything.
