Long time no post.... lots has changed... long post warning lol.. August 14, 2011, 07:52:50 AM Hello all... Well fall of 2009, I purchased a 1985 Thunderbird turbo Coupe from my buddy. The SVO had gone 11.83 @ 115 and the plan was to put it back to stock as any quicker meant cages n . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAkMMMqmMTIThe 85 TC was what we called the $100 wonder. Why you ask.. well, it had a stock longblock, stock T3, ported E6, LB2 comp/bog vam, open stock 2 1/2 downpipe, added a top mount I/C and pulled off a vac line to run 17-18 psi. Rest of car STOCK and NO not gutted.. We borrowed some front runners and ET streets and set out for our goal of 13.99, here is what happened... even stock fuel pump hence the low MPH I think...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_SxmS2gddgWell last summer I put the SVO drive line in the TC, and the TC drive line in the SVO LOL!!!!! 85 TC with pumped up 11 sec power plant84 SVO stock TC 13.60 motorSold the SVO in July 2010 for $6800.... Got T bird finished in the fall....Got it to the track yesterday.... here was the results lol....K bit about the tune...same combo as my SVO but 85 TC with a stock 7 1/2" 3.45 geared rear no traction aids except wore out ET streets... car wouldnt make more than 25-26 psi all day.. This has taught me two things. these motors DEFINITELY like some gear, 2, 3.45s SUCK.. I can't wait to get an 8.8 w/ some 4.10s in here, my slicks back, slapper bars on, a few more lbs out and back to drivin her like I stole her... Anyway here's the scoop...1st pass [scared of busting rear left soft.. raced my buddy Chris, [seahag on turboford] and he 60'd me like I was tied to a tree.. I tried power shifting 4rth and it bogged or i'd a caught his ass... lol..60- 2.111/8- 8.67 @ 86.571/4- 13.17 @ 109.46.Vid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6IQo4d1kZI2nd pass:identical everything except I went 87 MPH in the 1/8, but unfortunately I grabbed 4rthand blow a i/c hose coasted to a 13.2 @ 90 mph lolhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9SDHX9QceI3rd Pass:Tried to slip the clutch and maybe get a better 60'60- 1.991/8 - 8.37 @ 87.361/4 - 12.83 @ 110.25 < ok some progress at least.. still mad at the 3.4 gear.Vid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0x3rJOUTIc4rth pass:Let it cool, took out 2 psi of fuel pressure as my a/f was high 10s in 4rth gear.. [Wink] Also.. threw caution to wind, popped clutch at 5500..60 - 1.761/8 - 8.08 @ 88.07 MPH1/4 - 12.501 @ 111.8 MPH < - happy at this pointVid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcDyEHr8F7Y5th pass:did the same... it's just not good with this gear ratio.. I either bog or spin... [Frown]60 - 1.8751/8 - 8.20 @ 87.911/4 - 12.641 @ 110.82 <-- mehVid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-hf2nXoUrE6th pass... this was funny I bogged bad, so I fanned the clutch half way thru the 60 foot like when you come out of a corner on a dirt bike and it bogs so you fan the clutch.. I dunno why I thought that would save the pass.. oh well it went 110 again so that was ok lol.. [13.20] FYI I caught the SRT8 with ease lol..Vid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUnh1YntYAwLast pass of the day... the one everyone wanted to see...here it is..... CARNAGE LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdDDqlyNdjgMy plans now are 8.8 w/ 4.10 gears, remove front n rear steel bumper and ps pump, alum ds, traction bars [have all of it] and my slicks back on on a cooler day. 11s her we come. [crazy] Once 11.90s then it gets the bottle [40 hit.].Thanks fer reading... plan to post more. Quote Selected
