Factory graphic equalizer working with new JVC head unit.

So I was able to get the factory graphic equalizer and premium sound amp to work with the new JVC head unit I got for Christmas. I have no idea why I didn't do this years ago with the old Awia head unit I had. It's pretty awesome. I can now play CD's, an iPod or MP3 player, or even Pandora through the radio and have it still look kind of stock :D.

That looks really good. Idk what you were listening to, but i like it.

I have the same setup (factory amp and equalizer with aftermarket radio).  I buddy of mine helped me put it in over 10 years ago shortly after I bought the car.  I remember that we micky-moused some of the wiring to make it happen, but I don't remember the specifics.  I've actually been thinking about putting the original radio back in, but I'm afraid of what kind of a mess I'm going to find in the dash.

I just cut the plug off that connected the radio to the equalizer and left enough wire on both sides so I could reconnect the stock radio if I ever wanted to. I then connected the RCA plugs to the wires.

All I really know is that at the time I put the radio in I was younger and dumber, and I probably didn't do it the right way.  I remember messing with a bunch of the wires to the equalizer and whatnot, but again the specifics are fuzzy.  Sounds like you did it the right way.

I like that I could make it look 80's esque but still be able to play and control my iPod through the head unit. CDs and iPod > tape deck ;).

The only way to find out is to look. Hopefully it's not too bad.
