What rear end is this out of? April 27, 2011, 02:07:22 AM This TC was at Fabulous Fords Forever a few years agohttp://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t97/biggrgivens/thunderbirdknotss.jpgI found it in the Junk yard like this over the weekend (Half off day)http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t97/biggrgivens/turbotbirdjy.jpgI pulled the rear end off because it was a posi, and for $40 why not have a spare. BUT when I went to remove the brake caliper supports I noticed it wasnt a Stock TC rear end. The brackets were not welded to the braces like a TC bracket usually is. Plus there were two big holes in the brackets with RH and LH stamped in them. Definetly not a stock Turbo TC rear end. Dont need them for my drum setup. Quote Selected
What rear end is this out of? Reply #1 – April 27, 2011, 12:42:21 PM Does it really matter at this point? Pull the cover and check the gearing and measure the housing to make sure it's 54".As mentioned on TF, it's most likely a 94-98 Mustang 8.8 Quote Selected
What rear end is this out of? Reply #2 – April 27, 2011, 09:56:05 PM Thanks two times. I post on both sites. Just in case I dont get an answer from the other, or maybe a better answer to my questions. If you look I posted them both the same day and roughly the same time. Quote Selected
What rear end is this out of? Reply #3 – April 28, 2011, 09:40:12 PM WTF? That whole thing is out there???? Wow, I would kill to see a goldmine of parts like that... so much I need off it :( Here's a question. Did you notice anything about the wheels (sticking too far in, or too far out)? Quote Selected
What rear end is this out of? Reply #4 – April 28, 2011, 11:06:14 PM No the wheels seemed to fit pretty well. They were chromed by the way. To much good stuff!! Anyway, I took pics of the gears in the rear end. It looks to be 4.10's. Might be to tall for a daily driver. Also one tooth has like a chip in it. Os that going to be an issue? Did SN95 rears come with 410's or is it an aftermarket gear?http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t97/biggrgivens/gearshot.jpghttp://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t97/biggrgivens/gearnumbers.jpghttp://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t97/biggrgivens/numbers.jpghttp://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t97/biggrgivens/gearnumbersb.jpgtooth issue?http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t97/biggrgivens/reartooth.jpghttp://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t97/biggrgivens/reartoothb.jpg Quote Selected
