Tripminders for sale March 18, 2011, 02:38:47 PM I picked up 2 tripminders a couple of weeks ago at the salvage yard and have not had a chance to dissemble, clean, polish, etc. I am pretty busy and won't have a chance to get to it for a while, so I am offering these at a lesser price than I usually do. These are Crown Vic units and you will need to use the mounting brackets off of your current clock and wire them up yourself (pigtail provided.) I will plug them in to make sure they power up but please note these are 30 year old electronics and all functions might not work. I can also include one of the red lenses I cut in case you want to change the display color, at no extra cost.$30 shipped. Quote Selected

Tripminders for sale Reply #3 – March 18, 2011, 08:44:00 PM Sale pending on both tripminders. They are the normal, blue-green color. If you are looking for one the same color as the clock, you won't find one. Every Tripminder I have had, even the ones from Fox Thunderbirds, have had the exact same color lens. I may have another if you are still looking.Edit: This is what they looks like lit up... (not the current ones for sale) Quote Selected

Tripminders for sale Reply #5 – March 18, 2011, 09:45:38 PM I can confirm the green lense tripminders do exist. I've possessed and sold several. They are not the same color lense as the big car tripminder. Quote Selected
Tripminders for sale Reply #6 – March 18, 2011, 09:48:37 PM I have read the article also, but I don't think the Tripminders actually ever made it into the 85-86 cars. All of the Fox tripminders I have come across have been from 83-84 Thunderbirds. In fact, looking through my owners manual for my 86 Cougar, there is no mention of the tripminder or how to set it or anything. The owners manual for 83s however, dedicates 7 pages to it. Tripminders for sale Reply #7 – March 18, 2011, 09:55:24 PM Hey Jangus, do you happen to know what type of car (year, model, trim level?) the green lens Tripminder came from or possible have any pictures? I am only curious because I have probably had 30 tripminders pass through my hands and have never seen one. Quote Selected

Tripminders for sale Reply #11 – March 19, 2011, 05:05:48 PM I have tried a couple of different methods to repaint the letters but haven't gotten one to come out perfect yet. I tried to paint them with a small brush but I must not have been steady enough. What I do is I take a piece of acrylic sheeting (just because its is very flat and I have lots of it laying around) and brush paint on it then after disassembling the tripminder to remove the buttons, I press it onto the face, kind of like a stamp, and only the raised letter get the paint on them. It usually takes me a few tries to get a result I am happy with. Quote Selected
