Headlight relay harness PITA!

I purchased an ebay h4 upgrade harness and swapped the wires around at the connection to the headlights so I can use the oem headlights for now. Everything works fine....until I turn the engine on. With the engine running the high beams either never shut off, or take a few seconds. I rarely use my high beams so it's not much of a bother, but I don't like things that don't work properly.

If I smack the high beam relay they will shut off, I'd replace the relay but it's a weird relay that I doubt napa, carquest, AZ, or federal auto supply carry.

Could the charging system be causing too much voltage to run from the battery to the relay? But then wouldn't the low beam relay stick to? UGH I'm confused.
