gots me some turbines!

Hey guys, well i got a little busy yesterday. went out and bought a new set of rims for the cougar. sadly the guy selling them didn't have the center caps. oh well, easy find at a junkyard i hope. took a couple pics of them once i got home, and a mock up on the car.

Looks like they'll be going on as soon as someone cleans up all of this cocaine!!!
plus I'm thinking of investing in some Firehawk Indy's...maybe...
Fronts

Backs

I Have thought about doing a quick spray job on them, to make them more like the cragar Turbines of old, but im not so sure after seeing Daminc's set on his Black Cat in the wheels thread, what do you think?

photo shop a firehawk on them to see what they would look like.... the wheels will look totally diff when the white lettering goes on...if your going to show the lettering of course. The lack of center caps steals from the looks too..

This.
I wish they made them in 5 lug, 17" or so, as near to the original as humanly (and technologically) possible.

For that matter, if they could safely be made into 5 lug...I'd run the set I have in the very near future...

I don't understand.... Isn't the whole reason to switch to 5 lug so you can run 5 lug wheels? If you want to run turbines, why bother with the swap?

Because I just spent a few bucks on SN95 front suspension stuff, and of all the 4 lug wheels, I prefer turbines over everything (stock wise).
I eventually will run Cobra brakes...they don't fit in a 15 inch wheel lol.

They are a bitch to clean up and paint, aircraft stripper, high pressure sprayer, and a lot of hand work to make them look good.
Hopefully ic appreciates the work I put in to them.

Im about to tackle my spare gold turbines but the color is rather faded.
I thought for sure a dozen cans of car cleaner would be a good start,, figures those cans are mostly air.
might as well drop em in a wash tub of boiling water to make it quicker.
then back to gold again "sun burst gold" to be exact for the 20th color.

i agree though, cleaning is not so fun.
