power lock issues February 12, 2011, 07:12:10 AM I'm having some trouble with my power locks, I'm not sure where the problem is:- opening the locks with the keyless entry keypad works fine, locking by pressing 7-8/9-0 does not however. Trunk opens using the keypad.- when I press the unlock button on the right door, it locks both doors. The lock button does nothing, not even a sound in the trunk.- when I press either button on the left door nothing happens, but there's a sound in the trunk.Since both doors are able to get locked/unlocked somehow, is it safe to assume both actuators are alright? How likely is it to be a faulty keyless entry module? Quote Selected
power lock issues Reply #1 – February 13, 2011, 12:26:46 AM pages 154-157 in my sig below. look at them. I have to say that something odd is going on with your second bullet item as it makes no sense that pressing the unlock on the pass door "locks" both doors.Check your fuses per the manual on pages 154-155.lets start there. power lock issues Reply #2 – February 13, 2011, 12:26:48 PM Something else I noticed, when I unlock the driver's door using the keypad, pressing the 3-4 button does not unlock the passenger's door. All related fuses are ok, will get some new ones tomorrow and replace them anyway.I have the left door panel off now, switch and wiring look ok, haven't opened it yet. If there's a sound in the trunk when I press a lock/unlock button, does this mean there's some sort of circuit breaker in the keyless module that opens? Quote Selected
power lock issues Reply #3 – February 13, 2011, 07:54:10 PM the more i think about it, the more i would have to say , try a different keyless entry module.I have the supplement shop manual containing troubleshooting but faults are not listed , just an indepth troubleshooting and its not an easy system.again, see if you can get your hands on a different keyless module. If not, im more than happy to pitch in and take it one step at a time. power lock issues Reply #5 – February 26, 2011, 04:20:28 PM I pulled the right door panel today and disconnected the power lock switch. It looks like someone once did something with the wiring that goes into the switch's connector. Having the right switch disconnected, the buttons on the left door that wouldn't work, work all of a sudden as does locking the car with 7-8/9-0 on the keypad. Seems like the keyless entry module isn't at fault.jcassity, I want to reconnect the wires to the connector the correct way. Do you have a closeup of the power lock switch's wiring? It's a bit hard to read the relevant EVTM pages on my computer screen. Quote Selected
power lock issues Reply #6 – February 27, 2011, 04:09:26 AM they should basically be a replication of the driver door.are you talking about the door buttons?take a pic of the door panel plsthere are three or so different door panel door lock configurations. Quote Selected
